Building your Qualification – Pathway to your degree
Postgraduate qualifications are comprised of a specific number of credits. To achieve the following qualifications, a student needs:
- 120 credits for a postgraduate diploma.
- 60 credits for a postgraduate certificate
To be awarded a Master’s degree, a total of 180 credits must be obtained.
Stage 1. OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management (120 credits)
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management helps students understand policy, management theory, and practice in the health and social care sectors. It provides both theoretical and practical knowledge to prepare learners for management roles, improving skills in areas like leading change, performance, planning, accountability, and team leadership. Graduates will be ready to work in various roles within healthcare administration and management.
This qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits:

Stage 2. MSc Health and Social Care Top-up – Dissertation (60 credits)
By completing the Research Dissertation in Stage 2, students earn 60 credits and become eligible for the MSc Health and Social Care.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded both the OTHM Level 7 Diploma and the M.Sc. degree certificate concurrently.
